Autumn Covid boosters

A letter has been sent to confirm that if you are on your GP Learning Disability Register and eligible (5 years and over), you will be invited for the autumn COVID-19 booster. Carers are also eligible to get their booster. Young people will receive their COVID-19 vaccine at assured GP-led vaccination sites, community pharmacies and other vaccination centres.

High Needs Funding briefing sessions

We will be running briefing sessions and training for all schools and settings, parents, carers, professionals and staff involved in supporting children and young people with SEND in mainstream and specialist settings following changes to High Needs Funding Banding Descriptors

Weds 28 September 2022 12 - 2pm Hertfordshire Development Centre Stevenage

Fri 30th September at 9.30 - 11.30am, Hobbs Hill Wood Primary School, Hemel Hempstead

This is an update and training on the use of the new banding descriptors that were published in June 2022 and the new provision descriptors to be introduced on 1st September 2022.

• Hear about the changes to the Banding Descriptors including the new specialist bands

• Undertake training in the use of the new Banding Descriptors

•  Understand how provision can be implemented to support the new descriptors of need

Healthwatch Hertfordshire Children and Young People's Survey (ages 13-18)

Are you (or is your young person) aged between 13 and 18 years old?  Healthwatch Hertfordshire wants to hear about your experience of getting in touch with your GP's surgery.

By sharing your experience, you will be helping to improve GP practices across Hertfordshire for children and young people. And you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 voucher!

Mission Employable Supported Internships (ages 19-25)

There are currently 1.5 million people with learning disabilities in the UK, almost 94% of whom are unemployed or doing voluntary work. Mission EmployAble aims to train young adults with learning disabilities to make the most of their individual talents and help them find a paid job afterMission Employable logo their training that will allow them to lead purposeful lives and be valued as active members of their communities.  They offer training via year-long Supported Internships, in partnership with the Buckinghamshire College Group.  Their vision is to give the interns every opportunity to gain the independence and self-confidence from their training that will help them find paid work afterwards – and to feel valued in their communities.

Bank Holiday Monday - Service Closures

As you will be aware, there will be an additional bank holiday on Monday 19 September to mark the occasion of the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  The SEND SAS Physical and Neurological Team Advice Line will not therefore be running on this day.  The Family Centres and SENDIASS will also be closed.
